Now that a few weeks have passed and I can give more details I wanted to recap on a fun project I was a part of this summer. Ashley, aka @GlamGirl228, who also happens to be our gorgeous go-to makeup artist requested my help for a Torrid model casting call happening in Los Angeles.  I was beyond excited for her and honestly super nervous as well. You see in my head I kept thinking if I don’t get this right, and they don’t cast her, it will be my fault. Once I let go of that fear, it was smooth sailing. The gig was simple: style 4 outfits for her to travel with and wear for casting and photograph her for headshots/full body pics to submit to Torrid.

First of all, Ashley is a natural beauty; she’s simply stunning! Styling for her I knew would be easy. The challenge was getting her out of her comfort zone which is wearing lots of black and always having her hair down to frame her face. Luckily she was open to my suggestions. I wanted to give her 3 outfit options hoping she’d have a casting call outfit, a cute date night outfit for while she was in LA, and an extra outfit for her to wear while she explored Hollywood.  The 4th outfit I wanted to style from her closet with pieces she already owned. Although there is nothing wrong with wearing lots of black or dark colors, (I am guilty of this myself) I wanted her to show those Torrid agents she could be versatile with her wardrobe.

We met at Sears and purchased several pieces that I knew could work with some of the clothes she already owned. Shopping was so much fun since besides working together we are actually friends. It felt like a fun girls night playing dress up! 🙂 After trying out several options, dancing in the dressing room to Beyoncé, we realized they had closed up the store. The sales associates had even began to turn off the lights lol. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Ashley is a professional MAC makeup artist so I knew she could beat that face to perfection! 😉 She created the makeup looks, I styled the wardrobe, and together we created a beautiful portfolio for her to present to Torrid.

The girl next door look: Messy bun to pick her hair up and have her gorgeous face be the feature. Military jacket and distressed jeans paired with a white tee and booties gave her an effortless yet put together look!

The who run the world look: I gave in with the black, but added a bold pattern that she normally wouldn’t choose. The bomber jacket paired with these joggers gives her a trendy look but are comfortable enough to run around Hollywood all night long.

The pick me! look: You can’t be missed while wearing bright colors and flowing skirt. I love her tanned skin tone and this shade of orange just emphasized it even more! Who wouldn’t feel like a goddess with this skirt draped on them?

The Ashley look: This is her true self! Always smiling, dressed to perfection, and full of confidence. She shines no matter how dark her wardrobe is. This outfit (minus the shoes) came straight from her closet. I wanted to style something she already owned to make her feel comfortable and at ease in her own element.

What do y’all think about the looks? Would you wear any of them? Let us know, we love hearing from all our #HoARHotties!

It was a complete honor to work with Ashley! Photographing her was a breeze. She is open to suggestions, is very professional in all she does,  and I can see so much passion and potential in her. Any modeling agency would be lucky to have her. I just hope she felt as beautiful as she looked and loved the outcome.

Thank you for letting me be a part of this journey with you and good luck in all you do our sweet GlamGirl.
