Glamping

GLAMPING is the new trend y’all. Our prayers have been answered. Allow me to share with you my peaceful, long 4th  of July Glamping experience.

As I lay there, sticky and crowded, my brother drooling on my right shoulder and my sister’s night breath in my left ear, it was then that I vowed never again to consider camping a form of recreation.

20 years later, I stood there in pure displeasure as I listened to my daughter’s exciting request to go camping. Selfishly, I quickly attempted to offer her a more “fun” option for our quick summer “getaway”. Since I failed to come up with some better offer, and since she had been asking about camping for so long, I knew the time had come. It was time I faced my reality. I was going camping.

But if you know me, you know I don’t give up that easy. I was determined to find us a beautiful destination that would fit her outdoor personality and my glam lifestyle (or so I’d like to think). In came The Green Acres, an alluring location that offered eye-catching yurts with chic decor, city style amenities and breathtaking views. It’s located in Elgin, TX, about 30 to 40 minutes away from Austin, surrounded by other charming little towns. I had hit the vacation jackpot. We were not going camping. For our fourth of July getaway, we were going Glamping!!!

I am in the community kitchen at Green Acres. The kitchen/dining/living area seem as if it was designed to accommodate two to three families (10 to 15 people).  It was absolutely stunning., complete with top-of-the-line modern appliances.

The front of the community kitchen/dinning/living area (barn). This area was filled multiple ways to entartain a group of people.

There was never a lack of sitting or creativity.

We disconnected from the world and explored the chic, farm lifestyle.

Yep, there is a skateboard ramp on the property.

Of course I sunbathed.

If rest was needed, we found comfort in our beautiful tent.

My Fourth of July getaway was well spent. Peace, family, endless farmland, and most important, minimum social media.

Review: The host/owner was super attentive, welcoming and treated his guests like family. I highly recommend the Green Acres camping aka glamping grounds for your next getaway. You are in for a unique experience.
