Fashion 101: Sport Chic

Give me a comfy pair of sneakers and I can last all day with the best of them. But when I want to feel cute and sexy I love a great curve hugging dress! 😉

I took my ootd from day to night very easily. While shopping during the day I had a messy pony and minimal accessories, but for an impromptu girls’ night out I threw on a light weight jacket, let my hair loose, and added bold accessories including an oversized handbag that matched my sneakers seamlessly.

Why choose between both looks when you can tie them together?!!With the rising temperatures of spring and summer come numerous opportunities to spend your days outdoors. And with that sometimes we bypass our gorgeous heels for the more comfy sneakers. But for a girl like me, that always feels she needs to look “put together” when you step out the house, the usual leggings and tee sometimes just doesn’t cut it when you’re out and about! Don’t be fooled, I’m a mother of a 15 month old, so most days I’m in my hubby’s tees and stretchy yoga pants lol.

Victoria looking super cool. She was very effortless and the way she wore her pencil skirt was perfection. She was able to take the skirt from day to night.

After watching our friend, Vic, look effortlessly chic in her sporty look during our recent NOLA trip I started to notice how this trend returns every year around this time. I’m talking about the  super comfy yet cute and playful look; Sport Chic. You can turn your fave pair of converse (which I think every woman should own at least one pair of) into a chic accessory to your fave summer dress!

“I love sneakers and dresses! I’m a big bargain shopper and got this dress at Target for like $6 & my vest at Ross for about $10!” Nelly’s ensemble  goes from sexy to cute and comfy in the short time it takes her to tie up her chucks!

Nidia's sport chic look

Nidia can take her sport chic look from a day at the park to shopping then dinner. The dress is nice enough for a night out but the sneakers give her the comfort she needs to get business done!

So the next time you see that maxi or fave dress in your closet but want the comfort of your fave sneakers, don’t even think twice! Combine them together for a fun and comfortable yet still very feminine Sport Chic look. 😉
